This is our story... Believe me, it is not a fairy tale. Scott and I argue, my children have meltdowns, and my house is often a mess. But we sure do love each other
and so far we are living happily ever after.

Days of Summer

This summer has been very busy. If you ask Cole he will tell you it all started with his birthday, June 11th. But it really began with Scott's birthday, June 6th. Then we squeezed in Father's Day. Cole completed swimming lessons and we went to see fireworks at Lake Benson. (This was a mistake by the way because we waited all night for the big event and when the fireworks started, Cole was terrified. He sat in Scott's lap with his hands over his ears. We had to get out of there. I should have known better because Cole is also afraid of the toilet flushing and will ask to get out of the stall before I flush. )We also celebrated Dalton and Parker's birthdays and Grandma Frances' (who turned 90). We went to the beach twice, once with Scott's family and once with my girlfriends. Needless to say I am exhausted and my house is a wreck. Unfortunately I am the new cleaning lady around here. We did have fun this summer and I am kind of sad to see it go. Usually the end of summer means the start of school. But lucky for me, for the first time in 10 years I did not have to start back to school. It was so nice to see the first day of school come and go without me. Cole is getting ready to start preschool in a few days and I am sick about that but we will deal with that when it gets here.

Grocery Shopping.... Piece of Cake

I hate grocery shopping, especially with children. Taking both of them with me is a nightmare. Before Ella could sit up I would put her carrier in the cart and then Cole would sit in the basket part. Yes, he looks ridiculous sitting in there but if I let him walk beside me it would take 3 hours. He is just like Scott....slow. I call both of them my turtles. Needless to say there is no where to put the groceries. I often leave the kids home with Scott and he says, "Why do you have to go today? You have all week to get groceries." Boy does he not get it. Now that Ella can sit up I thought I would let them ride in the big car together. All moms know that cart is like driving a school bus. Well, it turns out Ella loves the steering wheel but she keeps trying to use Cole's wheel instead of her own. The whole time Cole is asking me can he switch spots with Ella because she wants his wheel. When I finally give in and switch them what do you think happens?.... Ella still reaches for his wheel. Oh well, I tried.

A New Hobby

I have decided to try and start a new hobby, "bloggin" or "blogging," (I'm not sure which is right.) It's kind of scrapbooking, emailing, and keeping a diary all in one. My friend Allyson has inspired me and assured me that I can do this. Thanks to my sweet little ones, I no longer have time to talk to my friends or even my own sister unless I am in the car or hiding in a closet somewhere. At least this way I can talk without being interrupted. Now if Cole will share the computer with me then I can get started.
